South Park Offends TTC Subway Riders
Does this advertisement offend you? Several mass transit riders in Toronto seems to think so. South Park's new ad campaign (which has apparently hit in Canada) features the lovable Butters, about to receive an anal probe.
I assume that if I didn't watch South Park or if I wasn't familiar with its humor I would be a bit thrown off by this ad. Its humor is a bit much to swallow in the morning before one has had their caffeine fix. The TTC may be pulling the ad since several complaints have been processed.
I don't know how I feel about this. It's a cartoon in a suggestive situation - if it were a real person I would feel very differently about the ad, but I just don't think it's offensive. I'm more offended by the current subway ads in New York City that feature before and after pictures of people's bunions and hammertoe surgeries
